About the Information
What do I do if I see information that is outdated or wrong?
Please email us with a brief description of the issue and, if possible, a link to a reliable source. We take accuracy seriously and review all submissions promptly.
Does this website tell me who to vote for?
Absolutely not. CivicNow is strictly nonpartisan. We present factual, sourced information and let you draw your own conclusions. We do not rank candidates, assign scores, or make voting recommendations.
Why hasn't my city been added yet?
We're a small team expanding coverage across Massachusetts incrementally. If your area isn't listed yet, we're likely working on it. You can help by letting us know.
Where does your candidate and offical information come from?
We source our information from publicly available records including official state and municipal websites, candidate campaign sites, public financial disclosures, and published news coverage. We also reach out to the City Halls themselves for information they could provide. Where possible, we link directly to primary sources so you can verify everything yourself.
How often is the information updated?
We aim to review and refresh candidate profiles on a rolling basis, with more frequent updates during active election seasons. Information can occasionally lag behind real-world changes, but we'll always note the last-updated date on each profile.
How do you decide what information to include about a candidate?
We apply the same criteria to every candidate: office sought, current or prior roles, publicly stated policy positions, and publicly available biographical background. We do not include opinion, speculation, or unverified claims; regardless of political affiliation.
Can a candidate request to update or correct their information?
Yes. Candidates or their authorized representatives may Contact Us to flag factual inaccuracies. We'll review the request and, if supported by verifiable sources, update the profile. We do not accept requests to remove accurate public information.
